XII. International Hittitology Congress will be held between 4-8 September 2023, hosted by Istanbul University.

Department of Hittitology of Istanbul University Faculty of Letters announced: XII. International Hittitology Congress will be held between 4-8 September 2023, hosted by Istanbul University.

The triennial International Congress of Hittitology, held since 1990, had to be delayed due to pandemics. In 2021 it was organized online by the Hittite University. For the next congress in 2023, Istanbul University was chosen as the host in a well-attended meeting, and thus, Department of Hittitology at Istanbul University once again has the honour to claim its history.
Previously, the department had celebrated the centenary of the Hittitology discipline, whose proceedings had been published in 2015.

For the first time in 2023, the International Congress of Hittitology will be organized in Istanbul, for which Istanbul University and the Department of Hittitology will be collaborating with many institutions and organizations, including primarily the Hittite University.
