Doyen Turk archaeologist Prof. Dr. Refik Duru passed away

One of the doyens of Turkish archaeology Prof. Dr. Refik Duru died in Istanbul at the age of 92.

News of the death of the veteran archaeologist announced by editor archaeologist Nezih Başgelen: "Our valuable teacher, Prof. Dr. Refik Duru (1932 -2024), one of the doyens of Turkish Archeology, has also passed away. We have lost an important scientist. Our sadness is great in every respect. I offer my condolences to his students, friends and our archaeological community. May his soul rest in peace. May he rest in peace.
